On this course, young people learn about their natural environment. The programme has been designed to provide an introduction to the tools, techniques and skills of Bushcraft. It is also a great course for those who would like to learn new skills in conservation and organic gardening. Activities include fire lighting and outdoor cooking, wild food foraging, preparing wild foods, shelter building, growing vegetables and health and safety when using tools.
The young people who attend this course get to participate in a range of unique experiences at Boiling Wells. Boiling Wells is a beautiful 2.5 acre site nestled in a tranquil woodland valley near St Werburghs City Farm. The site includes a steeped orchard, rambling soft fruit, grass terraces and a nearby stream. Facilities on site include a larch barn, outdoor kitchen, cob pizza oven and fire circles, making it the perfect space for learning.
We also work with placement students at Narrowways Nature reserve and Stoke Park woods, where young people can put their newly learnt skills into practice.
