Our Boiling Wells site can be hired for outdoor theatre productions, woodland events and green weddings up to 6 times a year. The site offers you the flexibility to create an occasion that suits you.
About the site
Boiling Wells is a beautiful 2.5 acre site nestled in a tranquil woodland valley near St Werburghs City Farm. With a steeped orchard, rambling soft fruit, grass terraces, wild green spaces, native trees and a nearby stream, it is a serene oasis in the heart of the city. Facilities include a beautiful larch barn, grass‐roof wooden round house, amphitheatre, outdoor kitchen, cob pizza oven, fire circle, may pole and willow sculptures not to mention the wildflowers, wildlife and loads of winding paths waiting to be explored.
The site has running water and gas supply to the outdoor kitchen but is totally off grid. Solar panels on the barn roof enable low voltage lighting to the kitchen and barn but there is no other electricity supply. The wildness of the site is what makes it so beautiful.
Planning your event
The woodland backdrop is already set, therefore all you need to do is choose something to celebrate, add your own decorations, bring your own food, pick your favourite tipple and organise your own entertainment. To help you get started, we have put together a list of great local producers and green suppliers to ensure your event has that ‘Made in Bristol’ feel. We can link you up with the City Farm Cafe, Pie Minster or the Thali Cafe for bespoke catering options.
Our site at Boiling Wells is rich in nature, home to wildlife and has archaeological features from the medieval times. As such, it is of great educational and environmental importance and we ask that your event reflects this.
Most woodland celebrations take place on a Saturday. Our package includes exclusive site hire from 1pm Friday to 6pm Sunday. With the site, you also have use of:
- two 4.5 x 3m gazebos
- one 8m x 4m marquee
- 6 large wooden tables
- 12 wooden benches
- barrel BBQ
A member of staff will be at hand on the day to open and close the site and to ensure everything runs smoothly.
