Boiling Wells site can be rented for outdoor theatrical, artistic and musical productions, day-time birthday parties, naming ceremonies, celebrations and memorials, green educational activities, community events, forest school sessions, workshops, Team Challenges, woodland weddings and more.
Nestled in a tranquil woodland valley near St Werburghs City Farm, Boiling Wells is 2.5 acres of rich nature with a steeped orchard, rambling soft fruit, grass terraces, wild green spaces, native trees and a nearby stream. It is a serene oasis in the heart of the city.
Facilities include a beautiful larch barn, grass‐roof wooden round house, amphitheatre, outdoor kitchen, cob pizza oven, fire circle, may pole and willow sculptures not to mention the wildflowers, wildlife and loads of winding paths and hidden corners waiting to be explored.
The site has running water and gas supply to the outdoor kitchen but is totally off grid. Solar panels on the barn roof enable low voltage lighting to the kitchen and barn but there is no other electricity supply. The seclusion, peace and serenity of the site is what makes it so beautiful.
Activities must end no later than 10PM in accordance of our license and alcohol cannot be sold on site with the exception of City Farm event bars. Please note that we do not hire Boiling Wells for evening parties or gatherings with the exceptions of Green Weddings, Theatre Performances or Music collaborations. This is to protect the flora and fauna of our site, and to respect our local neighbours.
Dimensions: 2.5 acres.
Capacity: normal event limit is 150 people (there is capacity for larger events, usually reserved for City Farm events or collaborations).
Facilities: Barn, roundhouse, compost toilets, banqueting kitchen with pizza oven, amphitheatre. Gazebos, chairs and fold away tables are available upon request.
As an important site for wildlife, flora and fauna, we only take bookings for events and activities that will respect the site. You're welcome to bring decorations (reduce, reuse and recycle), but you will be asked to take everything away afterwards, including any rubbish or recycling.
